AquaSphere’s mission is closely aligned with the EIT HEI Initiative, which seeks to strengthen innovation ecosystems and drive institutional change in higher education. This program is part of AquaSphere’s commitment to advancing innovation in the blue economy and maritime sector by combining cutting-edge digital education methods with sector-specific knowledge and skills. Our objectives are to train the next generation of innovators and to drive digital transformation in higher education.

The present integrated approach supports the broader mission of modernizing higher education, while equipping learners with the tools to shape the future of the blue economy and maritime innovation in a digitally connected world.

You are encouraged to organize your reading and study time in a way that best supports your learning and helps you gain the most from the offered topics.

A digital confirmation of attendance will be awarded to participants who complete all modules and self-check activities (score > 50%).

Welcome to the “Water Innovators Academy Development” Workshop Material

AquaSphere’s mission is closely aligned with the EIT HEI Initiative, which seeks to strengthen innovation ecosystems and drive institutional change in higher education. The goal is to build an Integrated Blue Economy Innovation Capacity within partner HEIs. This means transforming innovation support structures and capabilities in universities, with a special focus on the maritime and water technology sectors. A key element of this process is fostering institutional engagement and change by providing tailored training opportunities for both academic and non-academic staff.

Through the “Water Innovators Academy Development” workshops, participants will explore both the theoretical foundations and the practical applications of maritime innovation. The program is structured into the following modules:

  • Blue Economy Innovation Management
  • Technology Transfer in Maritime Sectors
  • Startup Support for Water Technologies
  • Industry–Academia Collaboration
  • Innovation Space Design
  • Inclusive Innovation Practices

This training will equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to strengthen innovation capacity and contribute to sustainable growth in the Blue Economy and Maritime sectors.

The live workshop runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes, while the asynchronous material takes approximately 12 hours to complete.
